According to diplomats, at around 11 a.m. local time (03 a.m. Moscow time), an unidentified man approached the fence of the Russian Consulate General in Sydney and threw a duffel bag onto the territory of the institution. Thereupon, consulate general staff stopped accepting visitors for security reasons and immediately called the police.
The police cordoned off the street where the Consulate General is located and, having previously examined the bag, called experts for further examination.
