The State Duma has developed a bill on air taxis that will simplify the rules for the transportation of citizens by light aircraft. In this respect kp.ru said Sergei Detenyshev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Small Aviation Businesses.
According to him, the country currently imposes very strict conditions for official approval of small aircraft carrying passengers. He explained that representatives of the association and State Duma deputies are preparing two bills, one of which will introduce the concept of air taxis, and the other will propose some form of state regulation for it.
“In particular, we want to simplify the working rules; for example, canceling screening of passengers in air taxis, checking their documents, etc. Ordinary taxi drivers don’t do this. And air taxis are basically rural aviation. Detenyshev noted that it is impossible to meet the requirements imposed on large carriers in the conditions of small aviation.
The expert added that eliminating unnecessary administrative requirements would make it easier for Russians to access air transport and at the same time make it cheaper.
