Farmers are on the warpath. Dozens of tractors were deployed near the European Parliament in Brussels tonight. They do this hours before an extraordinary meeting of the European Council. They want to protest while leaders discuss aid to Ukraine and problems in the countryside. In Italy, they threaten to march on Rome. They have already closed highways across the country. It’s the same situation in Ireland, they’re starting to mobilize and they’re heading towards the capital. In France, the tension of the situation increases from time to time, roads are blocked with improvised fires, causing traffic to collapse at many points. In Portugal, farmers and ranchers are threatening to close the border with Spain today. Europe is waiting for its farmers who are demanding urgent measures to alleviate the serious crisis they are experiencing.
