Firefighters in the Tula region successfully extinguished an open fire in an area of 800 square meters in a former dormitory in the city of Yasnogorsk. As reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies TASSNo one was injured as a result of the incident.
According to representatives of the press service, the liquidation of open burning was carried out at 23:10 Moscow time. Alexey Pavlov, head of the Main Directorate of the Tula region of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, personally supervised the extinguishing process.
According to preliminary information, the fire started in one of the apartments on the fourth floor of a former dormitory, where all housing was privatized and used for living. The fire then spread to the roof, which had a total fire area of 800 square meters. As a result of the evacuation, 40 people, including 12 children, were removed from the building.
Six residents were placed in temporary accommodation, while the rest went to live with relatives.
The Yasnogorsk District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
While municipal authorities promised to provide all necessary assistance to the residents of the region, housing will be provided from flexible funds for those who cannot return to their homes after the fire is extinguished.
