Justice launches campaign to digitize civil records of all Magistrates’ Courts in the Valencian Community

The Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs has launched the campaign to digitize the civil records of all Magistrates’ Courts in the Valencian Community.

The project will include more than 8,600 books in the digital archive of the Population Directorate in order to present the records to citizens in digital format. In this way, in addition to facilitating the capture of records in individual registers created by the implementation of the Civil Registry Law No. 20/2011 in the new ‘DICIREG’ computer system, it is also possible to automatically issue certificates.

In the field of digital transformation, the department headed by Elisa Núñez, through the General Directorate of Justice, has launched the digitization campaign for a number of civil registry books and the Magistrates’ Courts of the Valencian Community, amounting to 4,997,595.78 euros.

In this direction, the first municipalities where digitalization started were Picanya and Alfara del Patriarca, followed by Almàssera i Bonrepós i Mirambell on January 15. Then, digitalization will continue in the Foios, Meliana and Rocafort Magistrates’ Courts until it is completed with all municipalities.

The action is part of the digitalization projects of the New Generation EU General State Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan Administration (PRTR) and aims to provide the service of Creating Data Structures and Images of Population Books in the provinces. Castellón, Valencia and Alicante.

This campaign, carried out by the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, will make a great contribution to digitalization and the elimination of paper books.

Digitalization is the basis for modernization and better provision of public services. This investment offers initiatives that represent a driving force in the Administration’s digital transformation, creating synergies and value for both the public sector, citizens and companies.

The aim is to promote the digitalization of Population Registers over the next two years by developing the ‘DICIREG’ computer application. In addition, this entire process will allow citizens to instantly access the data registered in the Population Office.
