The Progress Rocket and Space Center (RSC) (part of Roscosmos) introduced innovative welding technology into the process of creating the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle. In this respect TASS reported the press service of the enterprise.
“Friction stir welding technology was introduced at Progress RSC during the design and production of the promising two-stage intermediate launch vehicle Soyuz-5,” the press service said.
RCC also noted that in the future at this production base blocks of the promising reusable launch vehicle powered by liquefied natural gas “Amur” will be created.
