The incident took place in the Sovetsky district of the republic’s capital. As senior police sergeant Ilnar Faizullin said, a woman rushed to duty station 13 and reported that two children had drowned in the pond in Chishmyale park. The police officer and two employees of the Russian Guard who were in the department at that time went to the scene of the emergency.

There they saw two little children, a girl and a boy, falling into the water in the middle of the pond and barely holding on to the ice. Fayzullin and the National Guard tried to crawl to reach the boys, but the ice could not hold them and the men fell into the water.

“An employee of the National Guard captured the girl and immediately handed her over to me, where I carried the child to shore and handed her over to another employee,” police said.

Law enforcement officers then pulled the boy, who was no longer breathing, from the water. After the senior sergeant resuscitated the child, both children were handed over to ambulance officers.
