The majority of Russians (61%) expect miracles from the coming year. At the same time, 27% do not have much confidence in it. Such data was obtained during a survey by AlfaStrakhovanie, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
54% of respondents associate the miracle with money, increased income, bonuses and their own profits. One in three people expect magic in their love relationships and 11% hope the New Year will bring them miracles at work.
17% believe that for a miracle to happen, a wish should be written on a piece of paper, burned while the bells are ringing, and the ashes should be drunk with a glass of champagne. While 14% want to write a letter to Santa Claus with their children, 9% prepare a wish card.
Russians are ready to change themselves so that miracles happen. 55.5% of respondents want to start earning more. Almost 12% plan to lose weight, 8.3% will look for love, and the same number plan to have children. 5% plan to start their own business, and 7% plan to move up the career ladder.
Interestingly, the least respondents are influenced by dreams of travel – only 2.6% and hopes of gaining fame – 1.3%.
