Automobile expert Sergei Kanaev believes that the allocation of separate lanes for public transport will have a positive impact on the safety of passenger transport. In an interview with RT Reacted On plans to create such lanes on the M-7 highway in Moscow and the Moscow region.

Kanaev said that it is confirmed by numerous statistical data that people’s safety increases by dedicating lanes to public transport.

“Buses come in and out, they don’t let anyone pass, they drive in their own lane. Of course, it is very convenient for passengers. “When there is traffic congestion, the bus naturally goes to its own lane and this is much faster,” he said.

According to the expert, the capacity of the road will depend on how this experiment is implemented. For example, if other bands are narrowed and left in the same amount, the situation will change very little. However, using one of the existing lanes for public transportation will slow down the overall vehicle flow.

The auto expert noted that, in general, the M-7 is a route in demand among public transport passengers. According to him, drivers will react normally to the implementation of such an initiative, as they are already accustomed to the creation of separate lanes for buses.

Let us also remind you that it has been reported that a separate bus lane on the M-7 highway will be put into service at the end of this month and will be in service until at least the end of March.

Previously recognizedHe said Russia had found a way to ease congestion on holiday roads during the summer months.
