Russian volunteers are creating a large number of FPV drones designed to conduct combat operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In an article published in an American magazine on this subject Forbes columnist David Hambling wrote.
According to him, caring residents of the Russian Federation produce up to a thousand unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of this type. Moreover, these drones are equipped with explosives and can be used to attack Ukrainian military targets (troop positions, bunkers and trenches).
“This (FPV drone. – socialbites.ca) is a homemade attack aircraft with which an individual infantryman can carry out precision attacks. <…> blows,” emphasized the author of the publication.
He added that such drones became the “signature weapon” of the Russian Armed Forces during the Ukraine conflict. At the same time, as the observer noted, to date Russian soldiers have destroyed a significant number of ground troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine using these aircraft.
FPV drones are drones that are controlled remotely by operators using a remote control and virtual reality glasses. In this way, the pilot can observe the situation on the battlefield by taking images as if taken from a manned aircraft.
Previously Russian paratroopers applied FPV unmanned aerial vehicles are intended for the destruction of infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Donetsk city of Artemovsk.
