More than 135 thousand people and 18 thousand pieces of various special equipment are working in Moscow to clear the streets of the capital from snow. Deputy Mayor for Housing, Utilities and Landscape Pyotr Biryukov told journalists about this. TASS.

“More than 135 thousand people are working. “Approximately 18 thousand pieces of various equipment, including snow removal, transfer and rotary equipment, work at night…” said Biryukov, noting that cleaning the city, which is under the control of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, is a very difficult task.

As Biryukov said, on December 3, 15 cm of snow fell in the capital in 12 hours. According to him, while the streets are sprayed three times during the day, the work continues at night.

On Sobyanin’s instructions, additional resources were brought in for snow removal work. The official added that an operational center has been created with governors and heads of engineering companies.
