Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the biased attitude of the UN Human Rights Council against the background of the conflict in Donbass and then in Ukraine. This was reported by TASS.

“Unfortunately, throughout the history of the conflict in Donbass and Novorossiya, international institutions designed to guarantee and promote human rights – the UNHRC, the Council of Europe and others – have shown their bias and inability to solve the problems they face,” Putin said. Participants of the international conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Russian President believes that the West is trying to destroy the sovereignty of other countries and establish its own through international institutions and related doctrine aimed at protecting human rights.

Putin’s greeting to the conference participants was read by Valery Fadeev, Chairman of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC).
