Due to significant aviation losses in the war zone and lack of supplies from the West, the Ukrainian Air Force began to use obsolete aircraft, including the Su-17 fighter-bomber among the latest cases. This was reported by “Military Review”.

According to media reports, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now forced to try to renew its fleet of aircraft, including the Su-17, produced in the 60s of the last century. This particular bomber was spotted near the Ukrainian Air Force.

“Probably this is the only Su-17M3 with tail number 64 available to the Ukrainian Air Force, used for training pilots of the Zaporozhye Aircraft Repair Plant,” the publication explained.

It is possible that the Su-17 was transferred to Ukraine by Poland in the amount of 18 aircraft currently in service.

The bomber was produced from 1969 to 1990.

Before that, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported Nearly 40 Ukrainian planes were shot down.
