Scientists from Sechenov University under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation have found a way to suppress the growth of malignant tumors using nanopolymer particles. TASSsaid the university’s press service.
The report states that scientists have found a way to suppress the growth of cancer tumors using special nanopolymer particles that can penetrate cells and bind to oncogenes. Additionally, such particles can deliver antitumor drugs into the cell, increasing the effectiveness of treatment and minimizing the number of side effects.
It was previously believed that nanopolymer particles could only interact with receptors on the surface of cells. However, according to the results of new experiments, they can enter the cell if they can hold on to the surface for a while. This discovery made it possible to significantly expand the scope of its use.
