On October 2, National Unity Day, a solemn ceremony will be held in Moscow with the participation of the Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia Vladimir Vasiliev, at which the winners of the All-Russian public award “Pride of the Nation – 2023” will be awarded. The United Russia faction in the State Duma said at the press conference of TASS.
“I can say with confidence that the Pride of the Nation award has acquired federal significance: competitive selection made it possible to cover all federal districts of the Russian Federation and collect applications from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad. According to the results, we identified the 28 best laureates, in our opinion, from the 22 constituent units of Russia,” Vasiliev noted.
The Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia said that the special nomination “Defenders of the Fatherland”, which will be awarded to officers and soldiers defending the country in a special military operation zone, is an important innovation.
“Our children and grandchildren should be raised by the example of love for the Motherland, heroism and courage. “At the federal level, in the presence of family and friends, it is important to emphasize the tremendous contribution of our defenders to the strengthening of the Russian state and the unity of peoples,” Vasiliev emphasized.
Additionally, the Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia announced a new federal project, “Russian Readings,” which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod on October 31.
The Russian Readings project is implemented with the support of the Presidential Cultural Initiatives Fund. The award ceremony of the winners of the Pride of the Nation Award, the flagship project of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, will take place on November 2 in Moscow on the stage of the Maly Theater.
