Expanding direct contacts between youth representatives from different countries and raising a young generation that shares moral and ethical values creates a reliable basis for fruitful interstate cooperation in the future. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Pankin announced this at a reception held in Moscow for extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors and members of international organizations on the occasion of the presentation of the World Youth Festival, according to the press service of the festival.
Representatives from 54 countries from Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East attended the event.
“Public diplomacy, including youth segments, objectively contributes to the mutual cultural enrichment of different states and to the maintenance of friendship, peace, mutual understanding and equality. The World Youth Festival will certainly provide participants with opportunities for intimate communication and awareness of the powerful creative forces in the world. “The festival will be an important event for participants from abroad who will connect with young people in every aspect and experience unique Russian hospitality,” he said.
During the presentation, Deputy Head of the Federal Office for Youth Affairs Denis Ashirov explained to the guests the concepts, meanings and values of next year’s largest international youth event, such as equality, mutual assistance, compassion and justice.
Also, ambassadors of foreign countries learned the main elements of the WFM-2024 program, which includes many formats for interaction between participants.
“We invite young people from all over the world to participate in the most unforgettable, large-scale, spectacular, vibrant international event of 2024. It is important that as many young leaders as possible from different countries attend the festival. After all, youth is not only the future, but also our present, where young people have already decided how they want to see the world and how they will build it by joint efforts,” Rosmolodezh deputy chairman Denis Ashirov told the reception participants.
