Life support systems for Russians may be disrupted in 16 regions of Russia’s four federal districts this week due to high winds. Wind gusts of up to 23 meters per second are expected. Forecasters also promise heavy rainfall. The All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) warns about this, writes RIA News.
According to the institute, experts predict possible disruptions in the life support systems of the population due to limited transport links and interruptions in the supply of electricity to settlements in the Kamchatka Territory, Magadan Region and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
Winds of up to 23 meters per second and mixed-phase precipitation of up to 30 millimeters are the main causes of such disturbances.
It was noted that a similar situation may develop in the second half of the week in the Altai, Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk regions, Altai Republic, Tuva, Khakassia, Kemerovo, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan and Kaliningrad regions.
