On the night of October 19, a reinforced concrete road bridge collapsed in the Novosibirsk region. This was reported by press service Regional Highways Administration of the region (TUAD).
In 1971, a 45-meter-long causeway was built in the Chulym region over the Karasuk River to the village of Bazovo. It could withstand 23 tons.
Due to the collapse, access to the section of the street where 8 private houses were located was cut off. According to the press service, among the 29 local residents on the border side there are nine minors and one with limited mobility. Children’s classes were canceled on October 19.
The support initially buckled, then the rest of the structure collapsed, according to TUAD. The press service noted that experts check the condition of the bridge several times a year. The cause of the collapse has not yet been disclosed.
A 30-kilometer service road was organized for vehicle drivers. TUAD assured that there would be no problems in supplying materials to the village.
Previous ferry crossing works in the Kerch Strait suspended because of the wind.
