Most often, Russians change the interior of their homes when they are bored with the situation and want a change. Only 4% update furniture and decor for New Year’s and other holidays. This is shown by a study by VseInstrumenty.ru, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
The majority of Russians (36%) update furniture and decor approximately every 3-5 years. A quarter (26%) do this less than once every 5 years. 13% of the respondents renew their apartments every 1-3 years, and 7% renew them every year. One in five Russians (18%) have never renovated their home or updated the furniture in their apartment.
Most often Russians change their interior because they are tired of it and want to change something (45%). The second most common reason for changing the decor in an apartment is stated as the deterioration of some furniture or the loss of the new look (39%). In a quarter of cases (25%), Russians make repairs or renew furniture when moving to a new apartment. The least number of respondents (4%) said that they change the interior for the New Year and other holidays. Ufa, St. Residents of St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, as well as Voronezh and Volgograd, mostly create a festive atmosphere.
One in five Russians (19%) plan to have time to renew furniture and decor by the end of this year. However, 81% do not plan to do this. Russians in most cases want to update the furniture of the kitchen (36%), children’s room (30%), bedroom and wardrobe (21% each). Another 18% plan to change the furniture and decor in the bathroom, and 17% plan to purchase home accessories and storage systems. 12% will replace chandeliers and lamps.
26% of those who plan to change furniture and decor by the end of the year plan to spend between 50 and 100 thousand rubles. One in five (22%) pledge between 100 and 150 thousand rubles, and 19% between 150 and 200 thousand rubles. 21% of respondents also expect to spend up to 50 thousand rubles to renovate their apartment. The remaining answer choices did not receive many votes.
31% of Russians do not have any difficulties in choosing products because they clearly know what they need. 19% look at interior design ideas for inspiration, which helps them in the product selection process. 17% of Russians successfully use their previously gained experience in updating their home decor. Another 14% follow the advice of bloggers, and 8% know reliable stores with a wide range of products with everything they need.
