The Brazilian woman accused of trying to kidnap a five-year-old child from a park in Ciudad Naranco last Friday left an Asturias prison just 24 hours after a radical turn in the investigation. The judge’s decision corrected the verdict given the previous day, this newspaper has learned that an underage child went to the police station with his mother and introduced himself as the real hero of the events reported by the child’s grandmother. He never tried to kidnap the little boy.
The detained woman was released early this Wednesday afternoon. “He had a very bad time for two days”said her boyfriend, excited as he stood at the gates of the Asturian prison, waiting for his partner to be released again.
The woman was arrested on Monday and spent the night in judicial facilities. He appeared in court on Tuesday and was taken to Llanera prison after the judge ordered him to go to prison, from where he went directly to Oviedo police station yesterday to collect his mobile phone.
The prosecutor’s office reported this Wednesday afternoon that the police requested the release of the woman from the court of inquiry No. 1 after ensuring that the report was extended to the court in the morning. The incident disclosed on Tuesday raises reasonable doubt as to what happened. He assures that he requested to go to prison after receiving the police report and “after a witness – the grandmother – identified the woman beyond any doubt as the alleged perpetrator of the events” and took into account the seriousness of the crime attributed to her. Yesterday, the prosecutor requested the conditional release of the detainee, who maintains his investigation status, “in order to investigate the veracity of the events and defend the presumption of innocence.”
