The Russian army received a batch of BTR-RD Robot self-propelled anti-tank systems and BMD-2 airborne combat vehicles, which underwent major revisions at the Volgograd branch of the Kurganmashzavod initiative. “High Precision Complexes” noted that during the work carried out at the facility, all major components and assemblies were completely repaired or replaced with new ones. After a major overhaul, the combat vehicles passed all kinds of operating and firing tests. BTR-RD “Robot” and BMD-2 were accepted by military acceptance representatives and delivered to the troops on time.
The BTR-RD “Robot” self-propelled anti-tank missile system, created on the basis of the BTR-D airborne armored personnel carrier, is primarily aimed at destroying tanks. It is armed with two launchers of the Bassoon anti-tank missile system (ATGM) or a modernized version of it, the Kornet ATGM.
The BMD-2 airborne combat vehicle was put into service in the USSR. Its modern version is equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon, two 7.62 mm machine guns and anti-tank weapons.
