The press service of the Moscow region administration reported that the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov checked the progress of the construction of an overpass near the Bykovo station in the Ramensky district.
There is now only one level crossing, which is the only transport link between Novoryazanskoye and Yegoryevskoye highways. It also connects the northern and southern parts of the Lyubertsy-Ramen agglomeration, separated by railway, with a population of more than 500 thousand people. After MCD-3 came into service, the density of train traffic here increased and traffic jams began to extend for kilometers.
The problem will be solved with the overpass, the construction of which started within the scope of the national project in April last year. Work is progressing ahead of schedule; traffic should open on September 1, 2024, rather than January 2025 as originally planned.
“Congestion at intersections due to increasing train traffic is a sensitive issue in many of our cities. Here there is one of the heaviest traffic jams, at rush hour the navigator does not even shine red, it shines crimson and the traffic jam stretches for 2-3 km. Therefore, we appealed to the federal government with a request to support us and build modern and comfortable overpasses here, as well as in Anikeevka, Opalikha and Aprelevka, where the MCD passes and where traffic is heavy,” said Andrey Vorobyov.
The length of the overpass in Bykovo is 382 m, and taking into account entrances and exits – 1.2 km. It has 2 lanes and the estimated speed is 70 km/h.
More than half of the overpass is already completed. The installation of all 10 supports and the shifting of the span between 5 and 6 supports over the railway has been completed. Installation of metal structures of spans will begin in the near future.
