After Jesús Herrera’s international fame and career, his return to his homeland created considerable anticipation, especially since he was chosen by the National History Museum of Denmark to portray Crown Princess Mary.
He currently resides and works in Copenhagen, but after completing his Fine Arts studies at the Polytechnic School of Valencia, where he also completed a Master’s Degree in Drawing, Jesús Herrera completed his education by attending residencies and workshops in Italy, Brazil, and Cuba. , presents solo exhibitions in Mexico, Romania, Bolivia and the United States, and since 2006 in and outside Spain.
His work has also been seen in various editions of ARCO, ART MADRID or Arte Lisboa, JustMad and ArteSantander, and at international events such as PINTA, Art Lima, Brazilian SP-ARTE or Colombian fair Odeon, and in numerous group exhibitions. Such as those dedicated to artists in residence at the Spanish Academy in Rome (elected in 2014) or those in residence at the Casa de Velázquez (received this fellowship in 2016). His latest projects include the creation of a fresco for the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome.
