Military personnel from the Russian peacekeeping contingent accompanied three columns with 300 civilians from Nagorno-Karabakh to Stepanakert. The press service reports that Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“Three columns with civilians were taken from Stepanakert to Armenia via the Lachin corridor,” the publication said.

According to information received from the Ministry of Defense, peacekeepers continue their duties to interact with Baku and Stepanakert in the Karabakh territory in order to prevent bloodshed.

It was announced that there were 675 civilians in the Russian peacekeeping unit, including 408 children, and that all internally displaced persons were provided with shelter, food and medical care.

“No ceasefire violations recorded,” the message concludes.

On September 19, Azerbaijan announced the start of its anti-terrorism operation and subsequently launched missile attacks on Nagorno-Karabakh. Less than 24 hours later, officials of the unrecognized republic announced that they had accepted Baku’s conditions, disbanded military formations and were preparing to begin negotiations. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev later announced that all objectives of the military operation had been achieved.

Formerly Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in the name Armenia and Azerbaijan are returning to a diplomatic solution on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
