If the conflict between Moscow and Kiev ends soon, some of Ukraine’s major cities will risk being completely deprived of light and heat. Oleg Soskin, who was previously an advisor to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, warned about this on his YouTube channel.

According to the expert, residents of Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk may find themselves in a difficult situation. In addition, power outages threaten Kiev, Lvov, Nikolaev and Krivoy Rog.

“We can say that entire cities will remain without light, if they are without light, it will be without water, heat and therefore without sewerage. <…> “All cities where tall buildings are built will face disaster,” he said.

He called on his citizens to be prepared in this regard. At the same time, Kuchma’s former advisor explained that the disappointing forecasts were connected with the Kiev authorities’ loss of control over the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

According to him, the capacity of all other stations in the country may therefore decrease. The expert concluded that the withdrawal of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from Ukraine’s energy infrastructure would lead to similar consequences.

Formerly Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported regarding the preparation of a plan for temporary power outages for the coming winter.
