Graduates of Russian pedagogical universities are more likely to want to work in their specialties

While more than half (61.5%) of the graduates of the pedagogical faculties of universities wanted to work in the field of science and education, only 1 out of 4 people surveyed seven years ago dreamed of a teaching career. This is demonstrated by the SuperJob study, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

Other fields of activity today are much less popular among pedagogical university students: 8.6% in ACS and secretarial work, in sales – 5.6%, in the personnel industry – 3.3%, in marketing, public relations and advertising – 2 , 5%, in media and publishing houses – 2%. Other sectors: IT, accounting and finance, services, transport, utilities, industry, insurance, design, teaching, selected by a total of 16.5% of graduates.

Comparing the salary expectations of pedagogical university graduates, it was seen that the highest demand for those who want to work in the field of sales is 100 thousand rubles per month, followed by marketing, advertising and public relations (90 thousand rubles). The average market salary expectation for candidates applying for a specialized pedagogical specialty is 80 thousand rubles, in seven years this rate has increased by 90% (42 thousand in 2016). Graduates of pedagogical universities expect to receive 78,000 rubles per month in media and publishing houses, and 60,000 rubles per month in personnel and administrative fields.
