He explained that “totally absurd rules have been introduced in society” which are fundamentally at odds with religion and national traditions. At the same time, he noted that in Chechnya it is possible to eliminate such a phenomenon as bride theft and “some other anomalous phenomena that do not comply with the norms of Sharia”.
According to Kadyrov, he drew the attention of those attending the meeting that “any innovation in our society is categorically unacceptable.” He instructed the representatives of the clergy to develop a set of measures to help solve this problem.
