Elena Borzova: Career, Awards, and a Notable Pension Question
Actress Elena Borzova spoke in a recent interview with aif.ru about her pension, noting that she receives 50 thousand rubles monthly. She clarified that 25 thousand of that amount is the standard pension, while the remaining 25 thousand comes as an additional payment tied to her status as a recipient of the USSR State Prize. The prize was awarded for her portrayal of Ganna in Viktor Turov’s film People in the Swamp.
“Mitya Zolotukhin once told me that I have the right to receive extra fees,” Borzova shared. She explained that individuals who have won the State Prize are entitled to an additional payment equal to three times the minimum pension, a provision that enhances the regular retirement payout for laureates.
Elena Borzova completed her studies at the Moscow Art Theatre School in 1979. After graduation, she joined the Moscow New Drama Theatre as an actress, later moving to the Drama Theatre named after KS Stanislavsky and then to the Moscow Art Theatre named after M. Gorky, where she continued her stage work.
Her film debut occurred in 1973 with Youthden Letter. Over a career spanning decades, she has appeared in more than 60 roles and contributed to a broad range of projects.
