Scientists from the University of Nigeria found that Kegel exercises should not be done after sex. The results were published in the journal Libyan Journal of Medicine.

“We compared the assessment of 27 postpartum women’s ability to perform Kegel exercises before and after sexual intercourse. All of them suffered from mild urinary incontinence and had to perform exercises to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles. Our task was to find when this exercise was most effective,” the authors said.

All participants filled out a questionnaire after doing the pre- and post-sex exercises. They had to note how strongly the muscles contracted and how easily the task was given to them.

As it turned out, both indicators differed significantly before and after coital penetration, with a decrease in values after sexual contact.

“Therefore, women should avoid doing Kegel exercises immediately after sex. Otherwise, the adequacy and effectiveness of the application will be damaged,” they concluded.

Formerly sexologist Gulko announcedwhen exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles are contraindicated.
