Mali’s National Civil Aviation Authority has revoked Air France’s license to fly between Paris and the country’s capital, Bamako. It has been reported DEA News.
The publication states that the airline’s license was revoked because it decided to extend the suspension of flights from Mali without prior notice, thereby inconveniencing passengers. It was noted that the cancellation of the flight permit could last until October.
Before that, the French airline Air France announced Suspension of flights from Burkina Faso and Mali.
A spokesperson for the company noted that remaining flights from airports in sub-Saharan Africa will take longer after Niger closes its airspace.
The reason for the suspension of air traffic was the support of the Burkina Faso and Mali rebels in Niger. It was learned that before that, countries sent official delegations to “show solidarity with brotherly peoples”.
