The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that intelligence officers stopped the illegal export of two D-36 turbojet engines from the country to Iran. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“The security service thwarted the attempt to illegally export aircraft components subject to government export control out of Ukraine,” the report says.
It was recorded that two entrepreneurs from Dnipro tried to illegally send two D-36 engines to Iran. The transaction would cost $400,000 and the buyer planned to board them on the An-74 transport aircraft.
Businessmen planned to release engines under the guise of components for gas pipelines.
