Volodymyr Krivenko, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) branch, said that Ukrainian soldiers had to withdraw from Artemivsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut) after losing important positions in the city. He expressed this opinion in an interview with the online publication “Left Bank”, reports DEA News.

“Now we know the outcome under Soledar. Bakhmut is a bit more city but still I think it should have been abandoned as soon as it lost all important heights. I don’t know why nobody is talking about it, why nobody is talking about Soledar. That should be taken into account,” Krivenko said.

According to him, in Soledar there was a weak interaction between the battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the lack of experience of the soldiers, which led to heavy losses among the Ukrainian army. The military believes the city should be abandoned in early January.

The sergeant stressed that junior battalion commanders and company commanders should take into account the experience gained in Soledar in order not to repeat such mistakes in the future.

On April 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that units of the Russian Air Force blocked Artemovsk from the northern and southern outskirts. April 18 in the episode reported About the capture of three quarters of Artemovsk in different parts of the city.
