The Alicante State Family Business Association Forum (AEFA) launched the fourth edition of the School of Shareholders, a program created in partnership with Deloitte. This edition introduced an innovative, council-style management model where participants operate under avatars with distinct traits and perspectives. The event took place at Verne Technology Group’s facilities, highlighting a close collaboration between family enterprises and a leading technology firm.
Following an opening address from Gianni Cecchin, the session commenced with the first segment focused on practical governance themes. Discussions touched on flexible work arrangements as employees increasingly choose where to work, leadership development, learning pathways, and the crafting of a personalized value proposition aligned with each worker’s needs and pivotal moments in their career. This portion was guided by Samuele Rocca, Deloitte’s Human Capital Manager, who connected human capital strategy with the forum’s governance objectives.
The middle segment featured the council simulation, where the highlighted topics were presented to the board of directors for critique and eventual approval. Manuel Sánchez, a senior partner in Regulation and Compliance at Deloitte Legal, acted as council secretary, alongside Beatriz Martín, a Deloitte partner, ensuring the session stayed aligned with compliance and strategic governance standards.
The afternoon closed with a working lunch, during which family business leaders toured Verne Technology Group’s facilities. Gianni Cecchin spoke about the course’s impact and the essential elements of family business governance, underscoring Verne Technology Group’s standing as a prominent player in Spain’s ICT landscape. The group, with more than four decades of experience, continues to drive innovation and technology services for a diverse client base in the region.
