Singer and actress Irene Cara has died at the age of 63 for reasons as yet unknown, as reported by her representative in a post on her official Twitter account. The artist’s body was found at his home in Florida last Friday.

“Irene’s family demanded privacy while handling her grief. She was a very talented soul whose legacy through her music and films will live on forever. Funerals are expected and a memorial service will be planned for her fans at a later date,” the statement concludes.
