A police officer is working on viewing fans at the Al-Bayt arena in Al-Khaur, as fans who arrive in Qatar for the World Cup try to circumvent the alcohol ban at the tournament’s stadiums by using bottle storages. He told TASS.
“There are trials in almost every match. Fans are trying to use the bottle storage places: binoculars, phone chargers, musical instruments. They also pour alcohol from other drinks into bottles. But we are working carefully.” TASS A representative of the Qatari police.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced that the sale of beer was banned two days before the start of the tournament in Qatar. Let’s also mention that the sponsorship contract of the famous beer brand with FIFA is approximately 75 million dollars.
Alcoholic beer for fans is available in organized fan zones and gathering places near arenas, as well as in places that have a license to sell alcohol.
The World Championship started on November 20 and will run until December 18, 2022. The tournament takes place in eight arenas in five cities. The final match will be played at the National Stadium.
