The press service of the FSB Directorate of the Republic of Dagestan has revealed new details of the case of members of the Islamic State terrorist organization banned in Russia (an organization banned in Russia), who planned to carry out terrorist attacks in Makhachkala on December 31, 2020. According to the agency, natives of the republic Magomed Ramazanov, Ali Abdulkerimov, Magomed Abdulkadirov and Shamsudin Shakhrudinov joined the ranks of ISIS in December 2020. The Russians planned to carry out terrorist acts in the premises of the FSB and the Center for Combating Extremism in the region.
Six days before the planned crimes, FSB officers found and detained all four people. Law enforcement officers gathered and found a pistol, knife, parts for making explosives, and a grenade in the apartment where they planned the attacks. In addition to those listed in the arsenal of the attackers, there was a machine gun, a grenade launcher and a self-made explosive device.
The detainees fully admitted their guilt. The court found the defendants guilty of preparing a terrorist act, organizing an armed contingent, illegally purchasing and storing weapons and ammunition, and engaging in extremist activities. Ramazanov was sentenced to 12 years, Abdulkerimov 11 and a half years, Abdulkadirov and Shakhrudinov 11 years in prison. In addition, each was ordered to pay a fine of 350 thousand rubles. According to the court decision, the convicts will spend the first 4 years of their detention in prison, after which they will be transferred to a strict regime colony.
