renfe launched its new Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform under trade name of ‘doco’one to integrate one platform all transportation public, private and shared transportation services within and between cities.
President of Renfe, Isaiah Tablesthis Tuesday, the project, hitherto known as Renfe as a Service (RaaS), announced the name and launch of the brand alongside its own blog, website and social media channels.
With Doco, Renfe becomes the first publicly traded company to manage ‘door-to-door’ mobility services, as this platform allows planning, booking and enjoying all its services with a single payment.

The name Doco comes from the combination of the first two syllables of the word. ‘where?’ and how?’ and evokes the idea of giving all people more than one choice. Its logo is based on simple geometric shapes and retains accent marks, giving personality to the entire graphic ecosystem.

Users will need to register and enter their preferences when moving. When booking any travel, doco will offer the best routes and combination of transport modes to reach the goal, to be able to choose between the fastest, cheapest or most sustainable.
The new tool has its own website ‘docomobility.com’, blog and social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube). Currently, doco is in the initial phase of attracting ‘early adopters’ who will be able to use the app for the first time, which will be released gradually.
The application developed by Renfe together with technology partners NTT DATA and Siemens Mobility is expected to be released in the coming weeks. It is available to anyone who wants it with its mass launch.
In its initial estimates, Renfe stated that it aims to attract at least 650,000 new passengers within five years with this application, which will translate into additional revenue of up to 156 million Euros.
