Scientists first gave an artificial mini-spoon 19:41

Researchers from the University of Kayo in Japan not only lived for a long time, but also liver organoids that have performed all the main functions of this liver – have been able to create miniature versions of this organ. This is an important step for creating an artificial liver for transplantation and effective testing of drugs for liver diseases. Published in İş Magazine Nature.

So far, scientists have faced difficulties: liver cells quickly lost their features in laboratory conditions and turned into other cells. However, the team -led team of Re Igarasi and Mayumi found a way to change it. Frozen human liver cells took, treated them with the signal protein onkostatin M – and provided a million increase in the number of cells. These organoids continued to grow for three months and remained valid for six months.

With the help of hormones that regulate the functions of the liver, the researchers have provided organoids to start performing all important tasks of this liver: human liver, compared to the liver, produce glucose, urea, bile acids, cholesterol, triglycerides and even albumin protein. Moreover, the tubules were created in organoids such as a real organ to guide saffron.

When the organoids transported mice with the damaged liver, they partially changed the damaged cells and restored the functioning of the organ. This leads to the treatment of liver diseases with the help of cells obtained from organoids, especially when the lack of donor organs.

Research assistant Professor Sato said, “Our discovery can change the rules of the game,” he said. “If you can grow enough organoids, they can be used to revitalize human liver.”

However, even before this opening, organoids already promise benefits: they can be used for more accurate and cheaper test of drugs for liver diseases. Now they use liver cells collected from donors for this, but they are quickly losing their functions and very expensive. New organoids work longer and more determined.

In addition, organoids are suitable for modeling diseases. In the experiment, scientists have educated non -alcoholic oily liver (MASLD) and rare genetic disorders – orniticarcarbm deficiency. This will help better understand the mechanisms of diseases and develop more accurate drugs.

The next purpose of the researchers is to add other liver cells to raise organoids in a larger volume and to bring the model even closer to this organ.
