Scientists analyzed data on the health status and food habits of 78,000 people with cardiometabolic disorders who have previously participated in major studies in England, USA and China.
The diet of each participant was estimated according to various criteria. Vegetables, fruits, cereals, legumes, tea and coffee, such as many healthy plant products showed high quality foods. An increase in the share of refined cereals and potatoes sweetened with sugar and animal products was described as an unhealthy habit.
The results have shown that complying more strictly in a healthy plant diet reduces the risk of death by 17-23%of all causes and cardiovascular diseases. This effect was expressed independently of gender, age, weight, existence of bad habits and physical activity level.
It is stated that the use of useful drinks is associated with the risk of early death of tea, coffee and lean milk. At the same time, full milk and fruit juices had no similar effect.
