The Russian government may decide to reindex insurance pensions to the 2024 inflation rate before February 1. This was reported by RIA Novosti Member of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy Svetlana Bessarab.
With data Rosstat announced that inflation in Russia was 9.52 percent last year. At the same time, the state has indexed the pensions of non-working and working retirees by 7.3% since 2025.
“The additional percentage increase will be the difference between annual inflation and the indexation that has already been done. “Thus, the figure will be 2.22 percent,” he said.
Although pensions have been indexed since January 1, another indexation is possible, stated January 10, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov. This will happen if inflation is higher than expected at the end of last year, the official said. Nilov added that if the government deems it necessary, payments made to all insurance pension recipients will be indexed starting from February.
