The Sovetsky District Court in Makhachkala ordered the arrest of the former head of the Dakhadaevsky district of Dagestan, Dzharulla Omarov, on suspicion of fraudulent activities related to land plots. This was reported by TASS with reference to the joint press service of the courts of the republic.
“The investigator submitted a petition to impose preventive measures against the former head of the Dakhadaevsky district, accused of crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. “The court decided to keep the defendant in custody for two months, until March 13.”
According to the court, Omarov, while serving as the district head and making secret agreements with unidentified persons, illegally obtained the right to rent important land plots located in Kayakent and Derbent districts. The total area of these lands exceeds 2 thousand hectares and their value is more than 164 million rubles. The lease was re-registered in Loza LLC, a legal entity controlled by him.
The day before the hearing arrested Member of the Council of Ministers of the Ivanovo region, director of the housing and communal services department, Denis Kochnev, was accused of exceeding official powers. According to the investigation, Kochnev provided patronage to many business organizations. The Ministry stated that the region ensured the signing of a contract with the Regional Capital Repair Fund on favorable terms, after which the work was accepted without any obstacles.
