The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed a video of the actions of the army during the liberation of the village of Shevchenko in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The camera recorded the moment when the Russian flag was hung on one of the local buildings.
Additionally, the department presented images of abandoned Ukrainian positions.
Upon completion of the operation to liberate this settlement carried out by the Central Forces Group units, the Ministry reported January 11.
It was previously reported that three mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as National Guard units in the Sribnoye, Alekseevka, Grishino and Belitsky districts in the DPR, were liquidated. It was also noted that the Ukrainian army lost 535 military personnel in the clashes with the “Center” group of the Russian Armed Forces. In addition, four armored fighting vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed, including two American M113 armored personnel carriers, three passenger vehicles and five artillery systems.
RF Armed Forces started Liquidation of Shevchenko in the DPR on January 1, 2025. Its population is about one and a half thousand people.
