More cancer cases began to be detected in Russia: compared to 2021, this figure increased by 8%. This was reported by TASS General Director of the National Medical Research Center for Radiology, chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Andrey Kaprin.
According to him, the rate of early diagnosis of cancer decreased during the pandemic period when mass medical examinations were temporarily stopped and fewer preventive examinations began to be carried out. However, the statistics are now back to normal. In more than 60 percent of cases, patients are diagnosed with a malignant neoplasm in the first or second stage of cancer, Kaprin said.
“We also have good dynamics in terms of a target indicator, such as the proportion of patients registered for five or more years,” the oncologist said.
He explained this by the more effective results of treatment and rehabilitation that emerged thanks to the federal project.
Say caprine highlightedThe earlier doctors detect cancer, the better the chances of cure. While patients believe in “magic” pills sold by unscrupulous people, they miss out on valuable time that could be devoted to actually fighting the disease.
Previously in Russia ended Preclinical studies of cancer vaccine.
