Northern Fleet frigate Admiral Golovko of Project 22350 set off on its first long-distance voyage. This was reported by TASS In reference to SF.
The ship sailed from the city of Severomorsk in the Murmansk region.
The detachment’s ships were heading to the Atlantic Ocean via designated areas of the Barents Sea, the Navy said.
The march will last several months. The fleet explained that its goal is to display the Russian flag and ensure its presence in important areas of the oceanic zone.
Project 22350 frigates are multifunctional warships. They effectively combat surface, air and underwater targets and can hit land and coastal targets from a distance of over 1.5 thousand km.
The Admiral Golovko frigate, a carrier of Zircon hypersonic missiles, was accepted into service with the Russian Navy in December 2023. Now the Northern Fleet also includes the frigates “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” and “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kasatonov”.
A Russian frigate from the Barents Sea earlier hit Target in the Arkhangelsk region.
