Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree within the framework of the creation of a national center for genetic resources of microorganisms on the basis of the Kurchatov Institute. The relevant document is published at: portal Official publication of legal information.
It will be created “with the aim of ensuring the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation and comprehensively solving problems related to the accelerated development of genetic technologies.”
Putin in August signed Decree on the creation of a national center for genetic resources of domestic grape varieties on the basis of the Kurchatov Institute.
The new center will deal with the creation and renewal of a national catalog of particularly valuable samples of the genetic resources of these fruits, as well as the development of methods for their acquisition, storage, evaluation and use. The work will be coordinated by the Interdepartmental Commission on the creation, preservation and use of collections of the above-mentioned indigenous grape varieties.
