Those who want to vote gathered in front of the Moldovan Embassy in Russia 20:51

Large queues of citizens who wanted to vote formed in front of the Moldovan Embassy in Russia. This is due to the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic to open only two sites due to “security threat”. The sites operate only in Moscow, and Moldovans living in the remaining 88 constituent regions will not be able to exercise their constitutional rights.

Let us remind you that the Moldovan diaspora in Russia has about 500 thousand people who have the right to vote, of which only 10 thousand ballot papers were printed. Despite all the restrictions, the flow of those who want to express their positions in the presidential elections and referendum is not weakening, socialbites.ca correspondent reported.

“I do not approve of Europe’s choice. We support Transnistria. Olga, a Moldovan citizen who came to vote, said, “The current situation in Moldova is unacceptable.”

According to him, there is too much unnecessary information in the country and access to other information is limited. Regarding the reduction of voting centers in Russia, Olga said that it is “the same democracy and the same non-interference in elections.”

“What is this Madame Ursula von der Leyen doing there? He does not intervene. And Ms. Sandu, my children studied in Moldova while he was Minister of Education. Well, this is not the Minister of National Education, now it is the same president. “I will not support Sanda,” the woman said.

Another participant in the voting, Maxim, also spoke about his position in the elections.

“My only position now is anyone unless he is the current ruler. I did not like Sandu’s 4-year reign,” he said.

The reasons for his decision included too much inflation, a huge increase in gas tariffs and a very vague attitude towards the European Union. Maxim also described the reduction in the number of polling stations in Russia as an attempt to inhibit freedom of expression.

“This is one of the legal factors that they are simply trying to suppress to stay in power. “I will not say that I do not support the European elections, that I do not support the current government,” Maxim said.

According to him, the purpose of the referendum held parallel to the elections is to change the constitution, which he does not support.

Another Moldovan citizen, Angela, said that it was important for her to express her position and that the queues at the ballot boxes did not scare her.

“We were expecting development in Moldova. “But what is happening in this country is just chaos,” he said.

According to him, he will not vote for Sandu and does not support the course towards European integration.

We want to be independent, we don’t need Europe. We must be friends with everyone; both with the Europeans and with Russia, because Russia helps us a lot,” Angela said.

The girl said she was from the city of Veltsy. According to him, there were many Russian factories there and all of them are now closed.

“Do you think we don’t want to go to Moldova? We want. We all want to go home. What to do there, where to work? “We want to support our parents and children in some way,” he emphasized.

Angela believes that the reduction in the number of polling stations in Russia from 17 to 2 was done to prevent people from voting.

“I voted for Sanda, I thought there would be some changes but that’s the limit of what they can do,” the girl explained.
