Scientists from Anhui Medical University in Shanghai found that men with acquired premature ejaculation had impaired sleep latency, taking longer to fall asleep on average. Research results It was published In the Journal of Sexual Medicine (JSM).
Premature ejaculation (premature ejaculation) is the most common sexual disorder in men, characterized by the inability to maintain sufficient duration of sexual intercourse to satisfy the sexual partner. The causes of this disorder are complex and diverse. They may include both psychological and biological factors.
The study included 215 men with various types of premature ejaculation (PE) and healthy volunteers. Participants with PE were divided into groups according to four types of this sexual disorder: lifelong (LPE), acquired (APE), variable (VPE), and subjective (SPE). In the SPE type, the ejaculation time is stated to be within the normal range but not appropriate for the patient.
Scientists measured the subjects’ sleep quality using the Pittsburgh index and special wearable devices, while also collecting information on the men’s mental health. The results showed that patients with acquired premature ejaculation had an increased prevalence of erectile dysfunction, anxiety, and depression.
It was also found that men with APE were more likely to have latent phase sleep disorder. The scientists explained that subjects in this group took longer to fall asleep than healthy volunteers and men with a lifetime history of premature ejaculation. In addition, acquired premature ejaculation was often accompanied by a significant decrease in the rapid eye movement phase. This is a sleep phase characterized by increased brain activity.
Earlier scientists in the name Exercise to eliminate premature ejaculation in 12 days.
