Five people were stabbed on the final day of the Afro-Caribbean carnival in Notting Hill, north-west London. This was reported by TASSCiting a published statement by Scotland Yard.
Two of the injured were reported to be in serious condition.
The 32-year-old woman who was stabbed on August 25 is also in a serious condition. According to media reports, she came to the carnival with a young child to relax on her day off. A total of eight people were stabbed in two days.
Police also recorded two cases of cutting and one case of acid, which were not classified as stab wounds.
August 26 London Police reportedOn the first day of the carnival, 90 people were arrested in Notting Hill. The statement said 15 police officers were injured but their injuries were not serious.
The Caribbean Carnival has been held in the British capital since 1966. It was initially conceived as a unifying force for the city’s multi-ethnic community.
