Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the command and personnel of the Mariupol-Khingan motorized rifle brigade on the liberation of the settlement of Novgorodskoye (Ukrainian name – New York) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). It was reported press service Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“I congratulate you on the liberation of the Novgorod settlement of the Donetsk People’s Republic from the enemy,” the head of the military department emphasized.
Noting that the enemy suffered losses and “ran away”, Belousov noted the tremendous heroism of the brigade fighters.
More than 2.5 thousand military personnel were awarded state awards, three of them were awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
The Defense Minister added that the liberation of Donbass will lead Russia to a common victory.
