Products that accelerate aging have been identified 06:59

The mechanisms that accelerate aging can be divided into several categories. First of all, this is oxidative stress, when a large number of free active radicals are formed, which must be neutralized by the body’s antioxidant system. But as we age, the antioxidant system weakens, and these radicals damage cell membranes, DNA, and proteins. Oksana Mikhaleva, Ph.D., an endocrinologist, nutritionist at SM-Clinic, told socialbites.ca.

The second mechanism is chronic, low-grade inflammation, which is characteristic of the aging process. It is closely related to the development of insulin resistance that occurs with age. In particular, severe low-grade inflammation is triggered by obesity and excess body weight.

The third mechanism of aging is the formation of advanced glycation products in the body and their excessive intake in the body. This is a process in which glucose residues bind to proteins and damage them. This is especially true for collagen, which is found in the skin, joints, bones and muscles.

“Some foods can cause the acceleration of these three mechanisms of aging. Basically, these are foods included in the Western diet. It contains a lot of fatty, fried, salty and sweet foods. This combination of salt, sugar and fat leads to the initiation of the listed aging mechanisms,” said the expert.

According to him, first of all, processed foods pose a danger. This is red meat, especially processed and processed ones. This is also industrially processed meats: industrially produced sausages, sausages, meatballs, carbonades, hams.

“They are rich in advanced glycation end products and trigger chronic processes of oxidative stress as well as low-grade inflammation in the body. This includes fast food, junk food (snacks, snacks), sweet drinks and desserts in general, and industrially baked goods. All of this triggers the aging process in our body,” explained the nutritionist.

Trans fats and saturated fats are dangerous in this respect. Trans fats are fats that are found in small amounts in nature and the human body has no defense against them.

“A large amount of trans fat is also found in fast food, industrial frying, industrially fried chicken legs and potatoes. These are also heavily fried products such as vegetables, meat products, as well as almost all industrial bakery products, which are mostly made with margarine,” the expert added.

Palm oil is high in saturated fats, so it’s important to look at the composition of the finished product, he says. Palm oil, coconut oil and milk are also not very beneficial.

“These are the main areas of foods that promote aging and should be avoided. Try to eat more natural foods that you prepare yourself. It is best to eat foods fresh if they do not require processing. You should also try to avoid frying, because frying, especially on open fire and on coals, leads to the formation of large amounts of glycation end products that trigger the aging process,” concluded the doctor.

Formerly a doctor clarified The truth about “live” products.
